This is the part writing cannot carry: how a big fish is worked from the strike to the boat. If you are coming to compete, this is the level the deck runs at.

What we put on the table

The Ocean’s Fisher charters its boat to teams from anywhere in Spain or the world who want to compete in the Canary Islands big game circuit.

You fish the events. We handle having a professional boat prepared, fuelled and operational for each one. That is the whole idea: your team concentrates on the competition and nothing else.

2026 competition calendar

Seven events between August and October, across Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

Two ways to compete

Your team, your captain. Charter the boat and compete with your own skipper and anglers, keeping full control of your strategy and how you run the deck. Your team, our crew. Compete with our professional crew aboard. This is built for teams coming from outside the Canaries who want to fish water they do not know, with local knowledge and experience alongside them.

Moving the boat around the circuit

Following several events means more than having a boat on competition days. It means planning, preparing the boat and, for some events, moving it between ports and islands. We can follow the circuit with your team and adapt the logistics to each championship.

If the event is held at our home port, Puerto del Rosario, there is no transfer cost. Other Fuerteventura ports such as Corralejo stay simple. When the boat has to move to another island, the cost is worked out from the passage and the fuel needed, and agreed with you before you commit to the championship.

The outbound run doubles as a practice day. The transfer day is used to prepare: your team fishes and gets a feel for the area before the competition starts, whenever conditions and the championship schedule allow. Arriving at an event having already touched that water is not a small advantage. And the return is not charged as fishing. If the run home is split over two days, those are days spent moving the boat rather than fishing, so the whole return is charged as a single 1,500 € day plus fuel. Teams do not pay several full fishing days when the point is simply getting the boat from A to B and back.

Every passage is planned with you in advance: route, days needed, fuel and costs, all set out clearly before you confirm your entry.

What it costs

Our rate is 1,500 € per fishing day. On top of that, where applicable: boat transfer between ports or islands, fuel for extraordinary passages, and the entry fee for each championship.

Entry fees are separate from the boat charter and are set by each organiser: as a guide they usually run between 250 € and 350 €, but every championship sets its own terms. The full cost is agreed with the team before each event.

Trophies and prizes

Trophies won during the competition belong to the participating team.

For cash and material prizes awarded to the boat (prize money, fuel, tackle or other physical prizes) the split is agreed with the team beforehand. Everything is settled transparently before the competition starts, separating what belongs to the team from what is tied to the boat and its crew.
