Canary Islands big game fishing report 2026
One document a year, written at the end of the season, recording what actually happened rather than what we hoped would happen.
What the report covers
Species by species: when the run arrived, how it compared with previous years, which structures produced and under what conditions. Ocean data alongside it: temperature anomalies, current patterns and productivity.
And, honestly, what we got wrong. A record that only lists successes is not a record.
Why we publish it
Because the difference between a charter and a specialist is whether anyone is keeping score. Publishing the season openly is the only way to make the claim testable.
Status
The 2026 report is in preparation and will be published at the end of the season. It will be linked from here and from the fishing journal.
