Fishing charter in Gran Canaria
The south of Gran Canaria offers warm, deep water within a reasonable run, and the longest warm-water season of any of our departure points.
Why Gran Canaria
We do not publish a fixed distance from port to fish, because there is none. Departure port and fishing ground are decided by the season and by where the activity actually is, and we go there, changing island when it makes sense.
So we recommend keeping your accommodation flexible: do not book expensive or non-refundable places far in advance. The fish move and we move with them. You are coming to fish, and the time that matters is spent aboard.
The southern coast is sheltered from the prevailing wind and sits over water that deepens fast. Surface temperatures hold warmer here for longer than on the northern islands, which extends the season for warm-water species.
That combination makes it our strongest option for dorado and yellowfin, and a reliable one for blue marlin through the summer.
How we operate
How we operate from Gran Canaria
We work the southern drop-offs and the banks offshore. On calm bright days this is where spinning tends to produce best, because the water is clear and the fish show on top.
The shelter of the south coast also means we can often fish here comfortably on days when the northern islands are uncomfortable.
