Booking and deposit
A booking is confirmed once the 400 € deposit is received. The balance is paid on board on the day of the trip.
How payment works
The deposit is paid online by card when you book. Visa, Mastercard or American Express, through a secure payment page. We never see or store your card details.
The balance
Paid in person on the day, on board. Cash or bank transfer. There is no card reader aboard, so please do not count on paying the balance by card.
Cancelling: more than 15 days out
More than 15 days before the date, the deposit is refunded in full, with no need to justify why.
Between 15 and 3 days out
In this window a refund requires a genuine reason (illness, serious unforeseen circumstances or similar). Without one the deposit is not returned: the date was held for you alone and turned down for everyone else.
Inside 3 days
The deposit is not returned. The one exception is weather: on a red warning nobody sails, and on a yellow one the decision is the captain’s. In either case you get the deposit back in full or a new date, whichever you prefer.
Changing the date
You can ask at any time, subject to availability. A date change is not a cancellation: the deposit carries over.
If we cannot sail
If the trip cannot go ahead for weather, mechanical failure, illness of the captain, force majeure or any operational reason that makes it unsafe, you choose: a full refund of what you have paid, or a new date. The deposit is refundable in that case.
Who decides on weather
A yellow or red coastal warning is our reference point, but the final decision always belongs to the captain, with or without an official alert. He is responsible for the safety of everyone aboard and that call is not negotiable.
Cancellation for weather
If the captain judges that conditions do not allow the trip to go ahead safely, the trip is rescheduled or the deposit refunded. That decision belongs to the captain and is final.
On board
Guests must follow the captain’s instructions at all times. The operator may refuse boarding to anyone visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
With or without crew
There are two ways to charter the boat. With our captain and crew, recreational fishing is covered by the vessel collective licence and you have nothing to arrange. Bareboat, your team brings its own skipper, who must hold the international qualification and paperwork required to command her, and each angler needs an individual fishing licence. We can arrange it for you, but the fees are paid by the client.
Fishing licence
With our crew you need no personal licence: the boat covers you. If you bring your own skipper, you do need the individual licence, valid for three years. The fee is the official one in force when it is issued.
Fuel on bareboat charters
The boat is handed over with full tanks and must be returned with full tanks.
Lost or damaged tackle
Fishing tackle is included in the trip. If something is lost or broken through negligence, misuse or by ignoring the captain instructions (dropping a rod overboard without the safety system, breaking one on a manoeuvre the captain said not to make, mishandling gear during a fight), the cost of repair or replacement is on the client. If it is a technical fault, a failure or normal wear, we cover it. Losing lures, leaders or consumables during a fight is part of fishing and is never charged. The captain may require a harness, belt or safety line whenever he sees a risk of losing or damaging gear.
Catch
Blue marlin is always released. Bluefin tuna is subject to the ICCAT regime in force. Other species may be kept within sensible limits agreed on the day.
