Why Lanzarote
We do not publish a fixed distance from port to fish, because there is none. Departure port and fishing ground are decided by the season and by where the activity actually is, and we go there, changing island when it makes sense.
So we recommend keeping your accommodation flexible: do not book expensive or non-refundable places far in advance. The fish move and we move with them. You are coming to fish, and the time that matters is spent aboard.
Lanzarote sits at the front of the archipelago as you come from Africa, and that position matters. The white marlin leaving Moroccan water in late October pass through here before anywhere else.
Like Fuerteventura, it is a low island: there is little high ground to break the trade winds, so conditions are more exposed than in the lee of Tenerife or La Gomera. That shapes when we fish it rather than whether.

We come to Lanzarote when the reports justify it, mostly for the white marlin window in late autumn, and for the tournament dates at Puerto Calero and La Tiñosa.
Oceanic water rather than close structure: this is a run offshore, not a coastal drift.
We don't wait for the fish. We follow them.
